Recently, China had set up an Air Defense Identification Zone in the East China Sea on November 23, 2013. The new policy takes control over the air zone area by allowing only aircraft to fly when China gives permission. It initially requires to maintain two way radio system and clearly mark national identity.
In response, many countries like Japan, South Korea and U.S. have vehemently reacted on the said issue. According to reports, the plan of China may attempt to change the status quo (existing state of affairs) in the said area and it will likely increase tensions among its neighboring countries.
The following countries which already created ADIZ other than China are U.S.,Washington D.C., Guam, Japan, and Canada. The new ADIZ of China became an issue when the air territory overlapped through "Leodo" an ocean research station of south korea and disputable island known as Diaoyu by China and Senkaku by Japan.
On the other hand, Asian airline companies reacted kindly to the said new ADIZ of China. According to the reports, Asian airlines will not compromise on their flight path but will just rather inform China when passing said the air zone.
What do you think?
